Senior Software Product Manager

Tailwind is looking for an experienced product leader to help drive our roadmap across an increasing suite of fast-growing products through a user-centered philosophy, constant experimentation, and a focus on measuring everything; oh, and to keenly identify new opportunities to innovate every step of the way :)

Our mission at Tailwind is to make world-class marketing easy for everyone.

That's a lofty goal, and we like it that way. "Marketing" is among the most rapidly changing industries, with social media, machine learning and artificial intelligence disrupting how companies engage with and acquire customers. These new approaches, paired with ever better tools of the trade, mean that the bar for "world-class" marketing is constantly being raised. Making such complex ideas and tasks truly "easy" is in itself very difficult. And, underpinning all of this is the fact that tens of millions of new marketers have entered the field in the last few years; i.e. "everyone" is expanding by the minute.

Achieving our mission will take years, if not decades. For us to even come close, we need to innovate as quickly as humanly possible.

That's where you come in. As a Product Manager at Tailwind, you'll work directly with Head of Product and Co-founder, Alex, as well as the rest of our Product and Engineering teams, to conceptualize, research and deliver the next generation of marketing technology that makes the unthinkable today look easy tomorrow.

This will be the first full-time Product Manager role we've added to the team since our founding, so you will undoubtedly leave a big footprint on not only Tailwind as a product, but on the company and our Product team as we continue to grow.

Key attributes of a great Product Manager include:

  • Knack for combining available data with intuition about what customers need to conceptualize innovative and novel solutions
  • Excellent at designing and executing first-party research to gather missing data quickly when necessary to guide decisions
  • Strong instincts on prioritizing and balancing feature development, UI/UX and growth given the needs of a specific product and user base
  • Can paint pictures of the future that motivate and excite team members and customers alike
  • Skilled at leading through influence, without direct authority
  • Able to earn the respect of world-class engineers and designers
  • Model work ethic and preparation
  • Passionate about Product as a role and a profession
  • A healthy disrespect for the status quo

If you've been successful at these things, it will set you apart for this role:

  • Scaling products to serve 100,000s to 1,000,000s of users
  • Bringing products to market that specifically focus on serving small to mid-sized businesses
  • Fast-paced testing and iteration on existing products to substantially improve performance
  • Managing multiple products simultaneously across multiple lifecycle stages
  • Mentoring, training and/or hiring Product or Engineering team members
